OnePlus announced today that the 5T’s Lava Red variant will now be available in India. It is said to hit Amazon on 20th January and you can opt-in to get notified for when the phone is available. The specs are completely similar to the Midnight Black variant of the phone, however, the Lava Red edition will only be available in the 8GB/128GB variant. According to OnePlus, to achieve the Lava Red colour, two anodic oxidation processes are used, using double blasting and an AF coating to ensure the texture and feel. The phone also comes with a completely redesigned wallpaper unique to this edition to further enhance the user experience.
The Spec Sheet
For those of you who are not yet familiar with the 5T’s specs, allow me to enlighten you. The phone comes with 6.01-inch bezel-less display which is FHD Full Optic Amoled. The resolution is 2160*1080 with an 18:9 ratio. The camera setup is great consisting of dual cameras at the back and a single front camera. The rear dual cameras are 20MP+16MP and the front camera is 16MP. It comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and a Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor. It packs a battery of 3300mAH and is available in two variants, the 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB variant. The reason why you should opt for this is due to its Face Unlock feature which unlocks your phone in an instant. However, this does not mean that there is no fingerprint sensor which is available on the back of the phone.
With a great camera, the latest Bluetooth 5.0, and top of the line processor, the 5T is surely a beast worth buying. And it costs only INR 32,999 for the 6GB RAM variant and INR 37,999 for the 8GB RAM variant. The only con of this phone, in my opinion, is its lack of water and dust proofing that is an IP certification. However, if you do want a phone in this price range with water and dust proofing, I’d suggest you go for the new Samsung Galaxy A8+.
