In the recent time, Instagram is on a roll when it comes to adding new features. New features keep popping up every month. The latest feature to make its way to the public is the text-only story feature.
Instagram has been accused of stealing features from its main competitor Snapchat. Now, the two new features coming to Instagram are already present in the Snapchat app as well.
Instagram is internally working on a feature which will notify the user if you take a screenshot/screenrecord it. When someone takes a screenshot of your story, you will see a new icon next to his name. The same applies if the other person uses any screen recording app.
The feature has not yet been enabled, so you can continue to anonymously take the screenshots of other people’s story. The update will be a server-side update, so you don’t have to update the app.
After the feature is enabled, Instagram will notify you the first time you take a screenshot. The next time you take a screenshot, notification will be sent to the other person.
The other feature that Instagram is internally working on is the video calls. Once you open a direct chat, a new icon will appear in the navigation bar at the top just like the WhatsApp. Tapping on the icon will start a video call. Instagram hasn’t actually implemented other UI elements for the video call (so there’s not much to publish) and for this reason, we should wait a little more to see this feature enabled.
The feature will be enabled in the coming months and it will be available for both the Android and iOS.
Is there any other feature that you would like Instagram to implement? Do let us know in the comments below.
